Cotabato State University (CSU) participated in the 32nd Regional Symposium on Research and Development Highlights, organized by the SOCCSKSARGEN Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SOXAARRDEC) on November 20, 2025, at the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) in Kabacan, Cotabato. CSU was represented by Dr. Tarhata S. Guiamalon, Director of the Office of Research Programs.

The event, themed “Empowering Communities through AANR Research and Development in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region,” brought together distinguished researchers, experts, and stakeholders to share innovative ideas and present groundbreaking research in the fields of agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources.

The panel of evaluators included Dr. Juanito T. Batalon, Deputy Executive Director for R&D of DOST-PCAARRD; Dr. Naomi G. Tangonan, DOST Lifetime Scientist, Researcher, and Professor Emeritus of USM; and Dr. Emmanuel P. Leaño, Professor VI of Central Mindanao University (CMU). They were introduced by Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele, Consortium Director of SOXAARRDEC.

The symposium underscored the vital role of research and development in advancing progress and innovation across the region. CSU is honored to contribute to this impactful initiative.
