The 2025 Writeshop on Research Packaging for Publication commenced today at the Golden Lace Resto in Cotabato City. The two-day event, scheduled on May 29–30, 2025, aims to equip researchers with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively package their research for publication in reputable academic journals.
The opening program featured a series of activities, including an invocation led by Dr. Saudi Abubakar, followed by the singing of the national anthem, BARMM, and CSU hymn. Dr. Teng A. Alim, Vice President for Research, Extension, Production, and Resource Generation, delivered the welcome remarks, while Dr. Kundo Pahm Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs, gave a message of support.
Dr. Sema G. Dilna, University President, inspired the participants with an uplifting talk emphasizing the importance of research packaging for publication. Dr. Tarhata S. Guiamalon, Director of the Office of Research Programs, presented the purpose and objectives of the writeshop.
The lecture proper featured two esteemed resource speakers. Dr. Josephine R. Megalbin from the University of Southern Mindanao shared insights on writing and publishing technical research papers, while Dr. Julhamin Imlan from the same university discussed the intricacies of publishing—from manuscript to publication.
The writeshop is expected to provide participants with valuable knowledge and skills to enhance their research packaging and publication capabilities. The event continues tomorrow, May 30, 2025, with more activities and learning opportunities.
